IRL Beauty Products That Give You Filter-Like Skin

teewhy-hive.blogspot.co.uk
Even selfie queens can’t resist a Valencia-saturated selfie. Why look good when you can look flawless? And why are filters subject to our selfies?
These questions have answers. Instead of just filtering, we’d like to walk around Insta-worthy; you never know when an unapproved photo will make its way onto social media (looking at you, group photos). The answer to looking like our favorite Snapchat filter (you know the one) is not just good genes and primer. It’s an abundance of beauty products that do a plethora of things to the skin. Here, i  break down what to use when and how to get your skin looking filter-like IRL.
Color Correction
There’s a reason we can never quite replicate the looks of Instagram makeup: color correction. In real life, we’re either too red, too purple, or too yellow. But we can fix this – and our selfie game – with a bit of color correction to get us back to neutral.

TRY:
Stila Correct and Perfect All-In-One Color Correcting Palette ($45)
Elf Color Correcting Stick ($4)
Urban Decay Naked Skin Color Correcting Fluid ($29)
Becca Backlight Targeted Colour Corrector ($30)
Blurring
The only time we’d want a “blurred” photo is when any and all imperfections are instantly eliminated. IRL, we want a soft focus look, without the silly dog ears. Blurring products diminish the look of pores and fine lines. Achieve a “blurred” complexion with light-reflecting products, which scatter light for skin that’s lit.

TRY:
Becca Soft Light Blurring Setting Powder ($38)
Milk Makeup Blur Stick ($36)
Stellar Cosmic Face Haze Finishing Powder ($30)
NYX #NoFilter Blurring Primer ($15)
Air-Brushing
#Wokeuplikethis does not mean caking on the beauty products. Say it with us: air-brushing. Get air-brushed skin at home with a flat-topped foundation brush and “buff” product into skin, which will smooth imperfections (instead of just covering them) and allow you to gradually build coverage. Boom: #flawless.

TRY:
Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation ($43)
Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Hydrating Foundation ($42)
Elf Cosmetics Beautifully Bare Stipple Brush ($4)
Shiseido Foundation Brush ($30)
Sculpt and Highlight
The “pretty” Snapchat filter does more than just erase blemishes, it turns us into doe-eyed vixens. Translate that and we’re talking contouring and highlighting our features so they pop, IRL. Who cares if contouring is so basic, it’s a phenomenon for a reason.

TRY:
Charlotte Tilbury ’Filmstar Bronze & Glow’ Face Sculpt & Highlight ($68)
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder ($46)
Cover Fx Custom Enhancer Drops ($42)
Sephora Collection Highlight Lowlight Face Contour Duo ($11)
